ooh, nicely done Quaggy. You suckered me right in there! Very well written.
I like the cracker jack lines---the combination of Josh being all quippy but obviously so happy. And I like the touch of Ronna being so happy and tackling him. I always liked Ronna, I wanted Josh to lighten upo with her and all of the Santos staffers. Your story gives a nice little glimpse of a more relaxed Josh and a staff with more cameraderie. Everyone happy but poor Amy...
Thanks, Edgy! I was worried that I was being too obvious!
I'd like to think that Josh and Ronna grew to care about each other when the capaign was so small during the New Hampshire primary. And don't forget she saw a lot of Josh and Donna estrangement during that time. Ronna's probably enough of a romantic to get excited.
But I bet the more Josh grows in his role as COS, the more his staff will start to view him in Leo-like terms.
Quaggy, you were totally not obvious. I was thinking "Oh, no, another angsty fic written some time during the whole Amy thing" and then I was wrong. A nice smile on my face for right before bed.
Actually, I just wanted to write an Amy fic were she was more vulnerable and sympathetic than the stuff I've been reading lately. She may not be my favorite character, but Amy is not a one-note bitch.
Well, you could have tried to throw us a loop and make it someone like I don't know, Lou? Seriously, I blame my lack of common sense on my lack of sleep. Ignore me. I'm going to go hide under my desk at work until the end of the day.
No, no, you make sense! I could have been writing about a Annabeth/Leo/Jordan triangle (which I might have done at some point if John Spenser hadn't died.) Or even Sam and Ainsley. I just never looked farther than the Donna / Amy dynamic.
But I'm glad you were tired, so that you were surprised by the end!
Nice. I was totally turned around and confused there, in a good way. I caught it just before you revealed it, and had to go back and re-read to lay it down the 'right' way in my head.
See that's why I couldn't say more on AD! You had me totally suckered in too. Really well written, very clever. I was there trying to think, who could it be? "like they no longer cared that people thought they were a longtime couple. Because they were… and still are" So true.

So true.

And isn't it funny how all my non-JD fics turn into JD fics anyway? :-)
