I loved it... but that was predictable since I love all your fic.

And you discover you really shouldn’t have worried about not being told. There are messages from CJ, Debbie, Bonnie, Carol, Charlie. There’s a message from Danny Concannon and one from Sam all the way out in California. Margaret called three times. Will is the only one that mentioned Josh’s name.
I loved this detail because I'd like to imagine that if something did happen, of course everyone would be calling Donna. They had a connection... even when they were apart.

Thanks Gatz! That's really sweet to hear. And really glad you liked messages part. I think anyone that saw Donna's face when she was told that Josh was hit or Josh after the explosion in Gaza would do everything they could to makes sure that Donna heard bad news from a friend.

that's really sweet, your explanation for why they all would call to make sure she heard news from them. The whole thing so sweet. I almost started to cry twice (but I'm kind of feeling emotional in general lately). First at the part where they didn't want her to turn on the news. Again when I realized she was talking to Toby.

Is there going to be a sequel? I just feel sad now and I want him to wake up and see her there. Even if it's just short.

Thanks Dee! I really glad you liked it!!

This a prequel to What Happens In Hospitals (link at the top of the page). So, actually, you've already read when Josh woke up and saw her there! He was just a little drugged up at the time.

And by the way, I pretty much hate the ticket (except that one line) so it's nice to have this alternative.

Yeah, that The Ticket was a pretty big let down. Especially after the look Donna gives him after he hands her that beer in the Season 6 finale.

not that I believe there’s a huge number of people reading my stuff to begin with, but still

Beleive, beleive !! God, I love your stuff, just so nervous about actually coming to the party that I have never posted before. Does my hair look alright? Am I dressing like the cool kids?

You never even considered… The idea that Josh was conscious and in pain…

This, and the next bit? Did me in.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Love your writing! Keep going. I need more J/D

Hee! You don't have to worry about anything like that! Welcome!! It's pleasure to meet you!!

Thanks you so much for your kind words and the encouragement! Feel free to drop by anytime. (And by the way, more J/D fic is on the way very, very soon! I seemed to have been in a prolific mood recently.)

OMG! Perfection! *sigh*
I loved how you showed hospitals, they can take you away people or give you another chance, it's life and death in so little space.
I miss Leo, I miss him even more when I imagine his worried face. It's amazing the way he makes you feel like he's going to make it better, somehow he can fix everything and he's not letting anyone down.
The messages touched me, they know how Josh's accident can affect her and try to contact her, you can leave the White House but the bonds are unbreakable.
It was great how you included Toby, he didn't know and Donna had the pleasure of telling him good news for a change.
Accurate image of Donna, just like ITSOTG, wearing the 1st thing she found and loving Josh as much as that day.
This was awesome, I like it even better than the sequel!
Thanks for writing it!

Thank you so much! I think you could probably tell, I was nervous about posting this just because of the popularity of the sequel. (How funny to call it that when I wrote it first!) I know that I liked it better, (it's just a stronger piece, in my opinion) but I had no idea what other people would think! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! :-)
