One more thing before I go....

--So I finally got around to watching District 9 tonight, a.k.a. the movie I got excited about way way way WAY back when.  Yes, I know, late to the party.  But this movie seriously blew my mind.  It's not often I say "Wow" to a movie after it ends, but I did here, and that's totally saying something.  XD  (Is it bad that I actually want a sequel?  ( Read more... )

I'm glad you liked District 9. It's a really good movie. I didn't want to see it at first because from the trailers I thought it was going to be too heavily politicized, but it wasn't at all like that. Also SWEET MECHA ACTION HOLY SHIT THE ROBOT TOTALLY ITANO CIRCUS'ED ALL OVER THE PLACE

On the one hand, I agree that it was good it wasn't too heavily politicized, but on the other hand I thought the backstory they gave was a little too thin, and I think there should've been more history and politics in it somehow (as long as it was done well of course).

ITANO CIRCUS'ED

What does that mean? O_o; But yeah, I agree, the mecha action was pretty awesome too. ;-)

District-9 is such an awesome movie. I ended up watching it in the cinema by myself the first time (D:) but then persuaded my bro to come and watch it with me a second time. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. I hadn't seen any trailers, only the random "call this number if you see aliens" posters XD;

I really hope a sequel comes out, but I'm scared it will suck D:~ This film was just too awesome. It was funny, gripping, grim and the OMG MECHA! My box of popcorn didn't last two minutes XD

I think I first heard about it through some interesting TV advertisements, then I came across the fake MNU website that was made to promote the movie. I found "Christopher"'s blog and Twitter after that, and then I stumbled on the trailers. It was a really well-done promotional campaign, I have to say. :3 So I really wanted to see this movie for a while, but never got the chance. :P

Oh god, if they do a sequel I'm totally scared it would suck too. But the movie ended in a way where wanting the sequel wasn't contrived at all. I dunno......O_o;

Yeah, I was pretty much on edge the whole time, and not many movies do that (the only other movies I can think of that did that were Akira, Fight Club, and The Last King of Scotland), so that's saying something. XD
