I also hope you make good progress on your hopes for this year :DsquareofmeFebruary 24 2010, 10:48:48 UTC
Oh. Oh god. That is a terrible music video, and the worst use of auto-tune I have ever had the misfortune to hear. I WISH THAT PROGRAM DIDN'T EXIST ;___;
Also: the crap in that video is not a good thing to advertise about a college, though maybe that's just my opinion. Unless it's true. It doesn't seem over-the-top enough to be a serious attempt at parody.
... but I have to admit, the Harry Potter stuff made me laugh.

It's a horrible, horrible, horrible video. And yes, it's a bad thing to advertise about a college, even though in this case it's completely true. -_- And people who hear the song itself think it's a parody, but the video totally isn't. Bleh. It's easy to see why I don't like my college, no?
As for the Harry Potter stuff, well, we play Quidditch here. (Well, a modified form, of course, since we don't yet have flying brooms. :3) We hold an Intercollegiate Quidditch World Cup every October, where other colleges' teams compete. So far, our college has won each time it's been held. XD
I would run away if my family wasn't paying over $20,000 a year for me to go here. :/
The snitch is a person dressed in yellow (usually a cross-country runner) who doesn't belong to any team; s/he runs around campus while the Seekers try to follow him/her. After a while the snitch and Seekers get back on the playing field; the Seekers have to try to get a ball in a sock hanging out of the back of the snitch's shorts, and the team whose Seeker gets it wins 30 points and ends the match.
I've seen some snitches try to play games with the players; sometimes they blend in with the spectators, sometimes they're with a whole group of people wearing yellow so it's hard to tell who the snitch is, and at one World Cup a snitch managed to climb to the roof of a nearby dorm building. :D
If you want, I have more information posted here. ;-)

Seriously, I couldn't even get through the first minute of that video because the music was bothering me that much
