Breccan stood awkwardly in the auditorium as the last trickle of students filed out. He didn’t have class; his teacher had sent a mass text to everyone saying that Ryin King’s death meant it was canceled. He sighed and put a hand on one of the seats, leaning on it for support.

Already, he missed Finbar. )

Oh, Breccan. Even teenage-you can't resist the gods and can't help cheating on Finbar. Oops. :\
I was amused by Dylan's speaking to the narrator even though the story was in third person, and also Jazz's clueless defensiveness. Of course you weren't noticing Savin's eyes intensely. I bet the lighting was just wonky.

Poor Breccan really can't resist the gods' powers in any universe. I wonder if fic!Breccan knows what the powers are. I sort of think he's from a school system with terrible sex education and doesn't really understand how that stuff works. And I think he's maybe going to find out about it when he confesses to Finbar eventually, and Finbar is going to...react badly. Finbar knows the basics of how seduction powers work (including the True Love thing), but his immediate reaction is still to not realize that nonconsensual use of the powers is rape.
I'm glad Dylan's fourth-wall-breaking worked in third person. I was worried about how that would go, but Dylan can't not break the fourth wall, no matter what universe he's in.
