But, can he really stop her from being his killer? The Justice Department had that in their records; so maybe that's fixed, too. My current thought is that the Doctor just has to find a way to incorporate that fact into a "good outcome".

Here's a puzzle: Assuming the Doctor finds a way to live after he dies, what prevents River from killing him *then* (again)?

P.S. I'm thinking there must be an extra twist associated with the space suit; so perhaps BABY MELODY is the (nominal) killer!
