Well. That's two hours of my life I'll never get back.
I keep getting fooled by Gilliam's films...the good graces he got for being in Monty Python always seem to make me forget that he's primarily a visual artist, but he can't tell a cohesive story to save his life.
Ignoring the fact that there wasn't a likeable character in this thing, the misogyny was very offputting (er...going home to your mother is a worse moral choice than joining the police so you can bash someone's head in with legal impugnity?), but the pedophilia actually turned my stomach. Seriously, the movie's overt sexualization of a fifteen-year-old-girl? Makes it make sense to me that Gilliam supports Roman Polanski now.

In short? Yuck. Won't be seeing any of his other movies if I can help it. Probably not even the Quixote one.
