I saw the preview clip, but I understand there's a longer trailer floating around, which I have not seen. Have you seen it? Does it confirm what we suspect? How much should I avoid it?

Dude, look at that head! You'd be hard-pressed to find such an odd-shaped noggin on many other actors out there, I reckon. :) (Sorry, Simm, you know I love you and all, but seriously...you do have a very unique craniology.)
Yeah, I've seen both trailers, and I included the second one in my last post. There's nothing about Sam in it...but after watching it, I do think I know what happened to Gene now, and it's completely breaking my fucking heart. Am working on a post about it right now, and feeling like a complete loon for actually crying over a fictional character. ;_;
I haven't watched the trailers, and I'm not going to (yes, even though I've seen the stills here...), so I have a question about this shot of Sam - is this just a still, or did we see him move?
I ask because I've been wondering if that's just a still they've 'shopped in from LOM, or whether it really is new filming (I will not get excited, I will not get excited...). And I'm wondering if that's a pen he has in his right hand? It's an odd way to hold a pen, even if he is knocking on a window with the same hand. (er, did we see/hear him knock? and did he knock four times?)
It's just occurred to me I never did get me any Sam icons. This might be the time.
Just heard a trailer for episode 8 btw (at 9pm) but I stuck my fingers in my ears and asked the kids to switch it off!
Yeah, I was sort of joking about the four times *g*
Thanks for the info - I did some mucking about with the cap last night and the face is rather poorly defined, but to me it does still look like John. Can I see the HQ cap at denofgeek without getting majorly spoiled?
(I just got a spoiler at TRA - some thoughtless idiot had gone into great detail about the second trailer for ep8 on the ep7 discussion thread. Despite the fact that the rules quite clearly state that anything for ep 8 has to be under a spoiler cut. It's hidden now, but I still know more than I wanted to!)
