the continuing saga of the vampire chronicles

finished reading the vampire lestat a week ago last monday, and liked it tremendously. i think it's a real shame that interview with the vampire is the first book of the chronicles, as it's undoubtedly the weakest story of the bunch...i think a lot of people (like me) would be put off the whole series if all they read was the first book.

AFAICT (but I'm biased admittedly) the only thing worth watching QotD for was PMG as a sort of Giles clone playing David. The Lestat/Marius is mildly diverting (Marius isn't Bowie, but he does have some of the same otherworldly campness going on), but Lestat in Q is such a dull emovamp (everything but the sparkles) that it's painful to watch.

Simm as a vampire. Oh, if only.

also, simm as a vampire...with a french accent. the hormones of the fangirl collective would spontaneously explode.
