i'm not old and curmudgeony enough yet to complain that saturday night live is never as good as it used to be. probably because i used to watch it in the late eighties and early nineties, so i damn well know better than to say any such thing...it's still as good as it ever was; it just depends on what particular night you watch it ( Read more... )

I am. I haven't watched regularly since John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin, Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd... It's not necessarily that they were funnier than anyone who came after. They were just first, and there was honest to god excitement about raunchy live comedy at an hour when there didn't used to be jack shit on TV.

But I did watch the ST cast on Weekend Update on youtube, and...yeah, couldn't you just eat 'em with a spoon?

Rats, I didn't see it.

I used to watch SNL back in the day, and it never was as good as everyone seems to think it was. They had maybe a FEW less completely lame skits, but they still had no shortage of them.
