i suppose i should thank my grad school acting teacher...in spite of the fact that the woman completely hated my guts (because, i found out later, she coincidentally used to be married to an actor with my rather unusual surname; no relation though), she did get me into the habit of watching peoples' body language (well, closer than i usually did, anyway) and asking, 'what's that about?...what's that bit of business telling us about what they're really feeling?' :)
