The heat made movement slow, as if walking in an ocean of soup.
"So did you ever read it?" Dom asked after a long pause. Stretched a foot up on the couch to push into Orlando’s thigh
"Read what?" Orlando captured the prodding part, held it firm.
"The book man, Orlando...your namesake."
"Oh," Orlando paused, pushed his head back into the cushions, "No...I never did."
"It’s about a man that turns into a woman you know."
"It is?" Orlando picked his head up, looked at his carpet-sprawled friend.
"Sort of."
Musing, "I don’t think I’m a woman."
"No, me either."
