Wolfling and I just saw Star Trek -- she for the second time.
I am very happy.
I don't think there was a single moment when I winced because I thought they got something wrong.
Except that utterly confounding pattern of designing futuristic settings with lots of deep drops and narrow walkways and no guardrails. . . !

I'm reminded, with the catwalks and nothing to prevent people from falling or getting knocked off (you'd think it was a Jedi-designed thing!), of the moment in the film Galaxy Quest when Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver have to go through "the masher" (or whatever it was called), which doesn't really serve any purpose in the mechanics of the ship, but is just really difficult to get through, and as they're leaving, Sigourney Weaver shouts "Whoever designed this stupid thing needs to die!"
