As for rates: I'll probably research what the standard rates are in the area, and then go 15% or so lower at first. But I haven't thought deeply about it yet. As queenofhalves mentions below, I would also consider barter.

will you consider taking barter as well as cash? i'm not sure if you want to move into making a living for this, but i always feel best about offering that option for magickal work.

I'd certainly consider barter -- although I would prefer cash.

One day I want to make my living as a spiritual director, workshop leader, and teacher -- and for that I do need cash. Sliding scale and barter will both be options, as appropriate.
