The Landry Series
I'm well on my way into the Landry series by V.C Andrews. So far, I've read the first three books; Ruby, Pearl in the Midst and All that Glitters. I don't know why but I always seem to like the first books in series more than the rest of the series. It's certainly that way for this series anyways. I have been looking for books from V.C. Andrews in the Dutch Bookstores after you mentioned the books in a previous post but I haven't found any yet.
However, I really do understand what you're talking about. I think, at least for some writers, the characters change with their own change/state of mind. It works the same for me as a painter & for my sister as a singer: the work depends on how you feel. But in a book, especially a series, it is more noticeable and very annoying. Especially if the changes are abrupt.

I got my VC Andrews books from Amazon.com. They were pretty cheap and had fast shipping, of course they were just coming from a few states over but you could try there. Hopefully you can find some, they really are good books.
