feeling like I belong
So since no one here can figure out if the water has been cut-b/c all the students are leaving-or one of the "tubes" is broken like a friend said, I haven't had a clean shower, or tooth washing, or personal hygiene experience in the last 24 hours

In my 10-year-experience in China I can only remember a few times Chinese emitted any unpleasant BO - cabbies mostly.

I can tell when summer is coming by the stench alone. Honestly saying that on a 4-8 hr day on the town at least once if not twice.
Cabbies yes. Most buses I've been on. I get it sometimes in restaurants from clients and servers. A strong waft when walking in public. Worst it's my students, on those days where they are "cold' b/c it's 80 degrees out and the windows are close.
Remember it's right now confined to the south, where it's humid and stanky, no northern experience yet.
