On our way back from BM, we stopped in Reno, being exhausted from insane traffic. We were in a mall about to head home when one member of my group, a guy who had come to his first BM from Australia happened to wander through the Borders... and found a copy of your book, Afterburn. He was really excited about it, and I think he'll be spending his long flight home getting intimate with its contents. It was neat, I got to be all - "Hey! I know her! Yay!"

On sort of a related note... we managed to pull off a mini version of the Temple of All Gods thing this year, and did a lot of ritual out at BM. Next year, we're gearing up for something pretty big, with a big public temple space and interactive art/rituals and other things. Since you're sort of the expert on ritual and religion at Burning Man... any chance we could get coffee and chat on the subject? (And also, you're just neat, so coffee would be fun. :} )

Sure, let's get together & chat. I tend to look at ritual more than organize it anymore, but I likewise enjoyed our chats last spring. ping me.

It's been vastly cool & reassuring to hear that various folks have seen our book pop up in stores this summer. Yay indeed! I heard from my new friend the opera composer that he & his carpool back were reading aloud from AfterBurn on the way home, which gets even funnier in light of the fact that my husband & I were listening to his opera, as I heard later was my co-editor/friend MVP.
