What is your greatest wish?

Dec 27, 2007 04:58

My dad once asked a guy what his greatest wish is, what he hopes to accomplish in his lifetime, before he dies.
He said, "I have 2 wishes. The first is to see the ocean, and the second is to stand before the Great Wall of China.'

That statement made me reflect, and put my life goals in perspective. Is it true that simple people are happier?

Many of us probably have longed for a simpler time when there would have been less drama and wants in our lives. Was there always a rat race? Was there always a desire to outdo the Joneses? Perhaps, perhaps not. The world (or at least NYC) we live in is starting to feel so disgusting...

Ok, better stop my ranting. I think simple people are happier.

But... simple people are so.. simple.

perhaps we are chasing the wrong things in life.

Why does the world feel disgusting to you?

In my usual exaggerated fashion, I'm making a sweeping statement again. :)

It's not so much the world but rather a small group that I've known for about a year. I recently had the opportunity to see this group from a different perspective and I made a connection that I never noticed before: they either had rich boyfriends/husbands or go for date rich men.

This group was some what close to me and I was astounded when I made the connection despite always having felt somewhat out of place.

hahah, or do you feel inadequate because you are not rich?

i've come to accept that people will always disappoint you.
