Mkay! I am in Chapel Hill, well, the surrounding area (closer to Duke and this town called Durham). Ha! My parents lived in Durham for a few years. They both really liked it. I'm drugged up! You can talk to my mom about Chapel Hill anytime, if you are interested. She went there for her residency, at least I think.
Glad to hear you're having fun! We miss you.

As far as NC being too normal...I don't mean this offensively, but what I've noticed from being in the East and the South is that their definition of "normal" is way different than ours. Lots of things that would seem to be funny little quirks in Portland (dressing different, riding an unusual bicycle, living in a tree house, or a decommissioned caboose, having all your clothing come from dumpsters, having a job at a community based computer recycling center, etc) would be seen as shockingly outrageous on the East Coast.

I am sure someone will disagree with this assesment.

Well yes, the thing is that UNC is normal when you look at normal standards, which is why I dont like it as much, because I like Portland's normality (or abnormality) juding by our own scale.

Living in decommissioned cabooses eh?
