Rec - Diplomatic Relations

My favorite Epic Rec listing site asked for small fandom recs. Since my favorite epic fic is in the Naruto universe, I thought I'd give it a try. I know Naruto isn't exactly a, ahem, small fandom but it's incredibly hard to find good, long, adult fiction in this fandom.

I've been in the process of reading my way through that particular archive for about a week now, starting with the Chuunin and Jounin page (KakashiXIruka being my favorite pairing, followed closely thereafter by GenmaXHayate yes i'm in denial) and...well...I'll eventually make my way to the other fics. Eventually. *grin* I'm eager to read this one though, since Lee is a total dear (even if his eyebrows scare the crap out of me) and...well...I'm a whore for anything Ishida Akira does (and it boggles my mind that he can do such a convincing psycho). Not a pairing I'd ever have imagined, but...wow...I'm highly intrigued!

Ah, ha, another Naruto fan. Welcome, welcome. There seems to be so few of us traveling around fandom these days and I don't understand. The slash potential, heck, just the story potential is incredible here. If you enjoy Diplomatic Relations as much as I did, I recommend The Kindred, the sequel sort-of. While I don't think it is as much fun as DR, it has the interesting twist as being all from Gaara's point of view. Whew!!!

Enjoy your denial, I love Kakashi any shape or form and Genma, well, I hadn't found any one that fits there, but ow, the possibilities.
