My response to Bridgewater apartments.
6340 N 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016
To tell the truth, I checked all reviews before renting an apartment in this apartment complex. And found only two: concerning maintenance and great noise, and took a decision to settle there. It was a big mistake.
First of all, the main benefits of Bridgewater apartments are: month to month agreement, zero deposit, all utilities included in rent (A/C too), reasonable prices ($562 for a studio). It’s really a great deal on the Phoenix apartments market, but…
You should clearly understand what kind of public usually rents these apartments: poor credit history, not enough money to pay a deposit, accidental travelers. And that’s it. Some people are really amazing and polite, but as for others: it’s just a white/black trash. They don’t care about your needs at all, they have parties during the night (at 3-4 am), they scream, they interfere in your private life, and if you ask them to be more calm they’ll just begin to yell even more - nasty, ill-bred, crazy persons. So, in order to sleep during night you’ll have to call 911.
As for maintenance - it’s really awful. Once I needed to wait for 4 days in order to have my bath tap repaired (and to have an opportunity to take a shower). Certainly, they have enough work to do: the apartment complex is in the permanent renovation process, as a result it’s not possible to sleep during the day (construction noise) and it’s likely possible that you can discover that you don’t have any water just before leaving your home for a work, walk, any kind of appointment, etc. One more detail: maintenance workers are fond of discussing the clients (and trust me you will not be very happy to hear what they say about you).
No washing and drying machines in units, just a public laundry. But, you should use a special card (no coins accepted) bought from the apartment manager for $15: the manager usually works from 9 am to 6 pm Monday-Saturday (they don’t accept coins, they don’t give you a change, they ask a $10 refundable deposit for a card). 3 washing machines ($1.50) and 4 small dryers ($1.50). It’s not all the staff: the management took a decision to establish business hours for the laundry from 9 am till 9 pm instead of 24 hours. What was the reason for that? Have no idea.
In addition: they don’t have public Wi-Fi, and the internet installation costs from $75-90 per month without contract plus $100 for the installing your Internet/TV.
They formally have a swimming pool, but it’s always dirty and without water.
They accept checks only and you can’t pay via Internet using your debit/credit card.
And one more thing: the apartment manager discusses clients with potential tenants and supplies your personal information (including financial information) for everyone (I have heard it by my own ears). If I am not mistaken, it’s a crime.
