I pulled my downloads folder out, installed Free Time, ran Body Shop and put my downloads into the downloads folder generated by Body Shop. All of my recolors, walls, terrain paints and floors are showing up, but none of my CC mesh objects are. I'm not quite sure what to do next.

Did you enable CC in the game options? I think there are 2 or three different tickboxes you need to tick.

yeah, i did everything. all my custom content that isn't a custom mesh is showing up. even the maxis-made custom meshes that didn't come with any of the games aren't working. i tried the tutorial thingie at mts2, but the custom mesh there--numenor's wall light--didn't show, though everything else did. i'm not sure what's going on. of course questions to the bbs at the exchange have yielded nothing but stupid.

(i said, "i have the most current version of cep installed." one person replied, "maybe you need to download and install cep." i also said, "i have custom content enabled. i've made sure and re-clicked it several times, though it's always said it's enabled." another person replied, "maybe you don't have custom content enabled." bah.)

Hmm. Did you enable CC in both places? In the Game Options there's the "Catalogs Display Custom Content On/Off" button... but there's also the thing next to it. The "Display Custom Content at Startup" box. That should be set to "off" then click the big asterisk icon. There's *another* tickbox in there that has to be set to "Enable Custom Content". It's like... a hidden tickbox. I don't know why they make it so complex. But if you already did that I really have no idea....

so i started up the game last night, and all my cc was there. even the mesh stuff. i don't know why or how or what made it all appear, but i'm not complaining. thanks for the help, though.

(maybe the simulation gods who'd made brian up and vanish from one of my qas incarnations decided to find a way to make it up to me?)
