I've been very busy, and don't think I've ever been so many days behind on reading LiveJournal as I am now -- I'll see if I can catch up tomorrow, and whether there's a limit to the number of times you can click "<< Previous 25".
violetclm is in Iowa visiting
Cornell College. I talked with him on the phone this morning shortly before his tour was going to start, and he was sitting on a swing next to a pond. As it was snowing there on Wednesday, you can imagine that apparent Spring starts a lot later there than it does here.
Last night
broccolipwns and I went to the
Civic Auditorium to see the
Whose Line Is It Anyway? touring show, which was very funny.
jongod,
myriad_rainbows and family, and
my children's improv teacher, were all sitting together right on the other side of the auditorium from us, so there was sometimes some silly waving and pantomiming going back and forth. An
interview in the local paper had mentioned that the cast uses a "rock 'n' roll bus" to travel from gig to gig -- after the show
broccolipwns and friends walked off in search of it and came back with their tickets autographed. Then we talked and did some improv together on the sidewalk for a while before splitting up to go to our respective homes.
Friday we had a daytime games party here, with guests
jongod's mother and younger brother,
spacelogic and
good_old_doli's mother and younger brothers and dog,
ocean_song and family and a 13-year-old who was visiting them. It wound up being kind of heavy on trampoline and swordfighting games (and conversation and popsicles), so much so that the only actual out-of-boxes-with-playing-pieces games played were San Juan and Settlers of Catan.
broccolipwns was pretty annoyed with this by the end, but at least for a while he had been enjoying the trampoline and swordfighting games as well.
