Oh, Revolutionary!France is amazing. Considering that he pretty much had Austria, Prussia, and Russia pissing themselves for fear of liberalism and decapitated nobles, I'd say that he was pretty much the scariest thing since I dunno...ever. But amazing! Yet terrifying again! You're fic really captured that revolutionary fervor which borders on madness. Liberating madness? idk.

Thank you! I've always been fascinated by that moment when countries must change from one faction to the next, you know? Like, before then they might have had sympathies or misgivings or whatever else, but...that exact moment when Russia lost faith in the Romanovs and cleaved to the Bolsheviks. That moment when America decided that his revolution was inevitable and turned against the British crown. Because hey--in the end, the nations always side with the winners.

REVOLUTIONARY!FRANCE YES. This was just... exhilarating and chilling at the same time. That moment when France just flips from one mood to the other is exactly right.

France would think Robespierre was such a prig, you know he would. XD Like, loves to hear him speak! Inspiring guy! Has some great ideas! This Terror thing, sure, we'll give that a shot! But damn, he doesn't want to go out drinking with him.

I think France would read Marat's paper religiously, for a while, but--after the slaughter of the political prisoners, I imagine him getting more and more uneasy about him, until he actually felt a kind of unease about Charlotte Corday. Like, sure, she murdered one of the driving forces behind Ze Revolucion, but...maybe he doesn't want to think too hard about why she thought he was doing it for him.

First off, there seriously needs to be more fics of Revolutionary! France and this fic only proves how truly amazing that would be.

Short yet so interesting, especially the ending. I've never really been able to pinpoint France's exact mental state at this time, but this, this just seems so right. The laughing/shaking/crying all at once as his people storm Versailles? Ah just so very cool.
