N'aww...

When I started prep, the school offered a 'tea and tissues' morning tea for all the new preppie mums.

I think there might have been here too - but sticking around in that environment would have been more likely to set me off than less!

Wow. She looks very keen and happy (and cute!) .... and very grown up ... she's no longer the little baby we once knew!

Hope she continues to have a fantastic time.

I know, I was thinking that just yesterday. Remembering the baby in my arms all those years ago, and marvelling at the miracle that is life.

I'm sure she will. We're hoping to start her at the Australian Girls' Choir on Saturday - she's super excited about that too!

Awww :)

My mum got me to start making my own lunch when I was in Year 3! Kids can easily make their own sandwiches, and pack apples and muesli bars and so on. It also teaches them how big a serving they need.

I second this - I don't remember a time when Mum made my lunch, though she did supervise and enforce rules (jam sandwich alone is not a nutritional lunch!) I was always bemused when my friends complained about what their mum had packed them, and quite enjoyed the process of choosing what I would have each day.

Della with big excited grin is adorable... I hope she enjoys the whole day.

Thanks! I just hope the novelty doesn't wear off for a while yet!

Yes, good point about having her help. Just because my mother packed my lunch for me until... university... doesn't mean I have to. My goodness, she really did it for that long. Wow.

I did that to my mother, at which point she said I could start making my lunches if I didn't like what she packed. I did. I continued to make my own lunches until I was a grown-up living with Granny. My workmates used to tease me about how my grandma would make my lunch for me:)

I love the photos:) She looks very excited.
