Clutter Challenge update

Nov 05, 2008 13:03

I'm joining baroquestar in adding three more categories, to make the challenge a nice round 100 items.

So:
* ten pieces of clothing - actually 23 items and counting... All now Salvo-ed, given to friends or thrown out
* ten books
* ten craft supplies - I have dealt with the (conveniently) ten things on the mending pile, but not sure if this counts as one item ( Read more... )

Speaking as a guy, I doubt I _have_ 10 pairs of shoes, and that includes the 3 pairs of black shoes that rarely get worn.

(though if I don't start throwing out mostly-dead gym shoes I might get there...)

Goodness, that's 7 pairs of outgrown kids' shoes and one pair of my shoes. I don't have enough to get rid of ten pairs myself (as I don't live in just one pair of shoes all the time :P)!

I was smiling away at your challenge.... and of course thinking I would join in. Trouble is.... I came back home to Victoria 2 1/2 years ago with just 3 suitcases and 1 computer (3 kids of course). AND now Ive been de-junking because we are moving across state asap. So Im scared to participate because I may have nothing left LOL.

Still it is exciting to see your sorting through ..... (Im thinking more room for fabric, wadding, general art and craft magic... we on the same page? LOL)

*cough splutter* that thought had crossed my mind! But realistically, I already have too much fabric. I tidied out the study wardrobe this morning and sorted through my fabrics - I have stuff I really don't remember buying, and have no idea what I was going to do with it either. There's certainly fabric there that I don't think I'll ever use, so I'm contemplating putting it up on eBay too.

Where are you moving to? It's OK not to participate! We've been here four years and are likely to stay put for the foreseeable future, but we still have unpacked boxes from our first (of five!) move in 2001 - obviously we don't need the stuff, but it has to be gone through. *sigh*

Im going to Ballarat (university to become a teacher or journalist (dreams are free), be close to my kids' dad)

OMG Maffra is so hard.... no where to shop, have to get an inconvenient (nearly non existent) bus to Sale. I hate shopping in Sale. Traralgon is nearly better but no easy transport..... I have had enough of Gippsland altogether.

Im just house hunting and dying at the rents.... I would love 4 bedrooms as Ive 3 kids and I would love to have a life.... but I cant see us paying $250 pw (I cant get to work until Samuel is a bit older.. he has just turned 3). I was saying to Mandi... pay more on rent to get a sewing room and then no money for fabric. Still... I live in a great country. Cant complain really.
