So. Since I haven't updated in *runs to check* ..Christmas last year... (whoops) Here is my life since then. (with bullet points!)
  • Me and the Boy are still dating. But I'll probably make a whole 'nother entry about that one.
  • I finally got a job. Nothing full time. And I only make a whopping $3.15/hour. But it's still more money than I had. And ( Read more... )

And I only make a whopping $3.15/hour. But it's still more money than I had. And technically a dollar more that he s required to pay me.
I absolutely detest laws that allow that. "Tips make up the difference!" but do they really?

Cancer is such a dick. :(

Cancer is such a dick. :( True that.

If you do that math it my wages using tonight as an example:

    5 hours @ 3.15/hour = $15.75
    $12 in tips

So that's $27.75 for the 5 hours I worked tonight. Minimum wage @ $7.40 would mean $37. So I'm coming out about $10 short. Theoretically my employer is supposed to make up the difference, but that would be a great way to put yourself on the fast track to being off the schedule.

On the bright side, I make $75/day watching bratty children when their teachers are gone. So I'm not doing too bad overall.

Long time no see! I was wondering what happened to you. I'm glad your mom's okay, but I'm sorry to hear about your sister.

    Just keep swimming!

Hi! I disappeared for a while. Being unemployed sure doesn't leave you with as much free time as you would think. Instead I sent hours filling out job applications. And cleaning my house/cooking dinner/other housework so that I didn't feel horrible when my parents had to pay my loan payments for me.

I'm hoping making daily entries will get me back into the habit of using it regularly. And I'm doing good with two days so far!
