thinking about next summer

I have an option for a study abroad program. It's only 2 weeks long, since these are designed for adults who are taking college courses and working. I don't think I'd have a problem getting those 2 weeks off, and I've always wanted to do a study abroad, even a brief one ( Read more... )

hunt for grants/scholarships for the program. Go to local organizations that might be interested and ask for a sponsorship. Offer to do a project related to their interests. A friend of mine just got back from doing a study abroad in the Phillippenes and got a church to sponsor her by taking disposable cameras and taking lots of photos.

True true. I've gotten too used to the idea of thinking I have to foot the bill for everything. I'll have to look into those ideas.

I went to Nicaragua this past time on my own dime...4 grand is a big ol honking deal when you're not working. I made it happen through asking for donations, odd jobs, and ebaying a whole bunch of shiz. If I had the chance to see the Galapagos Islands, I'd be doing it all over again!!!
