Note: This is an AU written per unreckless's instructions: Mary died in 1979, Sam never existed at all, and Dean was the Demon's chosen child. Also, there had to be voodoo dolls made out of pears. Yeah, I don't get her either. Anyway

I like how you took us back through Dean's whole life to show us what it would have been like without Sam, and how everything had happened. Dean was really in-character, which i think is dificult - especially for characters like him. And the final line pretty much cemented his Winchester-esque tendencies ;)

Thank you! Naw, I made that mythology up. Apparently there's something called a hamadryad that dies when you hurt their tree, but I dunno about regular dryads--hence the salt circle. No escaping for that beastie. And as for the consuming innocent bystanders, well...I just figured that was the normal SPN twist to any classic creature, amirite? xD

I'm so glad you thought Dean was IC. I have a really hard time writing him, so that was an excellent compliment!

Yup. I wasn't gonna, I was just gonna Facebook all night, then Monster Ballads came on iTunes and my brain went FIC!SPLAT. I mean, they're not really even related, song and fic, it just happened. So... -shrugs-

I wanna see this glorious Mulletness. And shame on you for reading mediocre fic instead of paying attention to class. Shaaaaame. Shame. Et cetera.

And yeah, I totally made all of that up. Not hard in the SPN world. Find a creature, make it as devious as possible, make sure some people die in creepy ways. Badda-boom. <3 I love writing for this fandom so, so much.

You're not alone in the weird, I know. I've got major normality issues myself. That was also one of my favorite lines to write, by the way. Alone!Dean would never pussy out of killing Jake like FellOnPie!Sam. Plus "bashing...face in" and "clusterfuck" in the same sentence ftw.
