Or you could tune into channel 64, la chaine de deutsche.

I often watch [ie use as background noise] the French channel and it is great.
The news usually consists of:
- a chubby, ebullient, but borderline-creepy man who tastes/rambles nonsensically about food and wine in an obscure and dreary village (usually the rambling occurs with much spewage of meat &/or delicate cheese) whose purpose in life is to reinforce French stereotypes,
- updates about the latest trends in interpretive dance, &
- anything equally bizarre or inconsequential.
And sometimes they'll talk about the weather.

They also have an overabundance of horribly lame game shows, featuring horribly un-funny hosts with loud voices and spiked hair. Apparently it's still 1997 in France.

or you could just watch the XX olypiad games in turino, italy.
there you could pick up some italiano.

and besides, long jump on skis has to be the best thing ever because if you watch, you know that they go about 100 meters or metres per jump.
