Boy Arrested for Opening Christmas Gift Early

'DECEMBER 5--A South Carolina boy, 12, was arrested Sunday morning afterhis mother called police to report that he had unwrapped a Christmaspresent without her permission. According to a Rock Hill PoliceDepartment report (a copy of which you'll find below), the child openeda Nintendo Game Boy, though he had been directed not to by familymembers.

The crazy thing is I thought the exact same thing. Spend the extra $40 or $50 and get the DS! OTOH, she is a single parent who isn't making much money. Maybe a GBA is all she could afford.

(27 with a 12-year-old? Maybe that's part of the reason the kid's so screwed up.)
