$80 for 2 weeks for 4 people? I sure don't recall paying that much a few years ago, when I spent ~3 months in the US. But then, it's probably much cheaper the longer that you stay.

Good to hear (pun fully intended) that your claim was processed quickly!

I used to pay $1500/month for American insurance, so this seems cheap to me.  Yesterday I finally mailed the reimbursement request for the ofloxacin - we'll see if the claim is processed quickly.

I bought the insurance because I expected that Wifey was going to twist an ankle or something.  Kid #2's otitis externa was completely unexpected and unrelated to anything he has previously been treated for - which is exactly the kind of vacation medical problem that the insurance is supposed to cover.  So hopefully the claim will go through without problems.

One must remember that the USA is an oligarchy.  Unless your annual income is at least $50 million, your opinion has no political relevance.  A recent study showed that the desires of the 1% completely explained the behaviour of the government, while the wishes of the 99% had no statistical explanatory power - they simply do not count at all.  The sheeple are permitted to exist so they can buy medical services from the rich ( ... )
