I get an RSS feed from the Reality-based Community.  Today they wrote what is basically a re-tweet of this article from Nonprofit Quarterly, which is apparently a print journal of low significance (since it has no entry at Wikipedia ( Read more... )

I think everyone and everything linked above is by and for the ultrarich, who would prefer that the riffraff not bother them.

If I did create an entry for the Public Welfare Foundation, I would definitely include the last line from their "About" page: "The Foundation does not fund individuals, scholarships, direct services, international projects or endowment campaigns."  Otherwise there would be far too many people who would read my Wiki article and think that maybe they could squeeze some money out of those folks - that sort of thing gets quickly tiresome when you're ultrarich.

Is it possible there have been pages for some of them, but subsequently deleted? I imagine there'd be a virtual paper trail, if so.

According to the logs, there has never been a page named "Public Welfare Foundation".  The article on the Spartanburg Herald-Journal added an unlinked mention for the Public Welfare Foundation in 2010, and later that year an unlink mention for Charles Edward Marsh.

Still, Jimbo has been known to fudge the Wikipedia records to curry favour with powerful figures, so ultimately there's no way to know.
