Ikki is in the park they're squatting in for now, sitting in one of the areas with an overhead roof. It's raining, and he doesn't mind that much (it makes for a great shower!); but he's had a cold coming on for awhile, and it's better to go with messy hair tomorrow than make that worse, right

Ikki can't even look up, he can't bring himself to. But he can tell the state Akito's in without it, and he pushes his backpack towards the other teenager with his bare foot. "Change," he says, "Before you get yourself sick."

"No," Ikki says, looking up now. No matter what's happened, no matter how he believes Akito thinks about him, he can't bring himself to stop caring. He can't bring himself to stop loving. Hand in hand with that comes worry, and it's in overdrive with the shark's refusal.

"You've gotta wear somethin'. If you get sick, what're we gonna do?"
