Longwood Gardens, July 2007, Part 1 (Outdoors)

Jul 13, 2007 13:58

Last weekend we went on a long-awaited trip to Longwood Gardens with tamnonlinear and chibent, plus a friend from dancing. Unfortunately, kefiraahava couldn't make it this time, so we missed having her along. I hope she can come on the next trip.

This is the first of probably three batches of pictures. These were all taken outdoors.

That's funny; I thought some of my friends WERE sock puppets.

Hmmm, I think perhaps your comment was meant for tamnonlinear's post?

I don't think there's anything wrong with having friends who are sock puppets. They're always there when you need them, they're low maintenance, and you can have as many friends as you want. What's not to like?

Yes, it was.

I was particularly charmed by the catfish images because we have foot-long goldfish who, although a good deal brighter than catfish, would also happily love you to death.

You have a blue-footed booby!

Wow, a foot-long goldfish! What kind of goldfish is it? When I was a kid we had a "feeder" goldfish in our fishtank that grew to be about 5" long. None of the fancier varieties ever lasted that long. I have a hard time associating goldfish with the word bright, though, considering that this was the same fish that jumped out of the tank one time when we accidentally left the top open.

tamnonlinear gave the blue-footed booby icon. I love it! A friend recently went on a trip to the Galapagos and came back with photographs blue-footed boobies doing their mating dance. I'm jealous, because now I want to see them in person, too!
