[Julius isn't the only one who's locked up after returning from Sweetwater.  You also has a somewhat bitter and excessively self-loathing Oldtype to beat the shit out of or maybe partake in some prison yuri fantasies.  This is... well Christ, not the first time she's screwed over the GDF but she's pretty sure there won't be any way out for her this ( Read more... )

You just HAD to get into politics, didn't you?

Politics ruined my life long before I decided that.

Are you familiar with a small island in the Pacific simply called "Saint's Island"?

No...

Well then there's no point in looking for it now.

It was relatively independent... it was also a nice, quiet place. I settled down there some time after the GDF saved Carris and all that jazz. It was probably the happiest time in my life... I found a fiancee, opened up my first bar, and was genuinely happy for the first time in a long time.

Unfortunately, someone high up in the UES didn't like the idea of an independent island. Maybe they wanted a military base or something... I don't know. They gave the island an ultimatum and I'm pretty sure at this point you can figure out how this story ends.

Ennil...

Why?

Reply

puru_gone_wild January 28 2011, 01:58:06 UTC
Because as nice as everyone here is, the rest of the UES doesn't have that stellar of a track record. And yet in spite of that they have a stellar track record of burning independent countries and settlements down and wiping them from the history books if they're unwilling to join the federation.

I wanted to... change that. Call it the weakness of a woman who gets excessive when she's scorned.

I realize that! But even if people died because of UES... do you think killing even more people is a solution here?

We are talking innocents, who are not prepared to die. They are not soldiers, like us.

I wouldn't say that. They're faceless men... the same kind responsible for what happened to Berlin, and the kingdom of Estarde, and countless others.

Just because the UES's leaders aren't soldiers doesn't mean there's not blood on the hands of a number of them.

But it's all for naught. Fifth Luna's peanuts compared to what Char wanted to do. Even Julius and I realized we were in too deep.

Ennil, why did you join the guy who killed so many people! I never thought you'd do something like that!

Tasuku, I'm a former Vulture. I'm a woman who is all too capable of going beyond what's appropriate when it comes to retribution. And when I joined him I was hoping I wouldn't be killing anyone.

Of course that wasn't the case. And now I have to live with the repercussions.

When you learned what Char was going to do... Was it too late to go back? Or to stop him? The GDF fought him - why didn't you go back to us when that happened?

[Rai peeks in at Ennil, expression unreadable.]

[And Ennil almost immediately shifts away. This is going to be ugly and once it comes, Ennil knows she'll lose something she'll never get back.]

I didn't expect you to be so easily manipulated.

This is Char we're talking about.

He tells such good lies because so many times he's saying the truth.

AND, a little something different. lost_of_four January 28 2011, 05:08:40 UTC
...I thought I'd bribe you with a Martini. I don't understand what's going on. But... Evas have taught me that face value doesn't usually exist.

[Damn fine martini. Needs improvement, but mainly that's just because Toji doesn't know how she likes them. It's also the only real unwinding she's done since she got back.]

You have a good future ahead if you keep practicing with that.
