[He gives her a second to collect herself before explaining.] He was attacked by some kind of monster-- not like the ones we usually see around. It messed up his arm pretty bad. We're at the hospital right now... But he's alright, seriously. I promise. He's just sleeping. Okay?

[No time for arguing - Chie just makes her way to the hospital as fast as she can. Maybe fifteen minutes later, she's standing outside room 104, melted snowflakes dotting her hair in droplets, jacket halfway unzipped, knocking frantically.]

[Yousuke winced at the noise, glancing over to see if Souji was still sleeping... Okay, good. He gets up out of his chair at his bedside and opens the door partially, looking out at Chie disapprovingly.]

Chie! [In a dramatic whisper; he's also blocking her way.] This is a hospital! Pipe down!

[Souji, his left arm neatly bandaged by his side, rouses at the sound. He didn't want to stay in the hospital- he'd grown to dislike them. But he was so weary, he had to rest.]

Chie? [He starts to sit up now, blinking to focus his eyes.]

[Chie turns back to Yousuke with a sharp glare of her own, but doesn't bother retorting. Her Leader's been injured! That's what's really important here. She approaches the bed, cautious, lips pressed together in a thin, worried line.]

Hey ... are you OK? [It's a dumb question and she knows it, but somehow, it's the only thing that seems right to say at this moment.]
