I've been getting to know the other visually impaired student on campus, now that Dari broke the ice. What's fascinating is that we have very similar issues, and fairly similar visual acuity from what I can tell. I use a cane (when I'm not being a coward about it) and she has a very sweet guide dog. I imagine that could be a disaster for a person who is completely blind! I have been doing research into therapy animals due to wanting to get Kerwin certified for therapy and the standards and tests are rather rigorous often you have to take them a few times and there are almost always two teirs of classes involved. And that is just for the Canine Good Citizen test, wish is just one in the series that you need for a therapy animal let alone a guide dog! But part of me wonders if every state isnt a little different. (My grandmother was asked to use one of her dogs for therapy visits and she wouldn't have even had to test for it in FL.)
Also I cant wait to show of Kerwin to you guys! He is so well behaved now! MUCH less jumping, and he sits and lays down and waits and even rolls over! XD
