I always thought if I mixed my own blend, say the smell my aura or soul would waft would have sandalwood, vanilla, amber, concord of creme, for sure... and then smells that I really like are lime, neroli, bitter orange, bergamot, civit, cypress, fig, pomegranate, honey, narcissus, melon, tangerine, mosses, rosewood, most woods in fact. I'm not one for rose or must, period. I prefer civet to musk and it must synthetic or I won't wear it, (although I generally am loathe to wear synthetics), and I don't usually wear many florals although I like them. I love the japanses Yuzu that smells like apricot! Mmmm...

Ooooh Shiny!

I bought a narcissus today, I am amazed at how strong its scent is. Lavender would definitely be in my soul scent, and vanilla and orange, rose, and sandalwood, with probably just a little burnt almond. Maybe amber and rosewood for some depth, and sugar (maybe even brown sugar) for sparkle.
Whoo, that smells good in my head ;) thanks for giving me something to think about.

*Boggles* Can you even get real civit anymore? Atrocious history there...amd let's not start on ambergris...

Right, and I'm glad you can't get it anymore. Plus, you can get excellent quality synths too these days. There is real ambergris one can get that is cruelty free, but it is few and far between. the prob is it's just cheaper and easier to kill the spermies, and the brokers will just lie to you about it all. So synths, yes. Ambergris and civet is really the only ones I like, as I detest musk. Bleh.
