Films

A few weeks ago James bought a copy of the remake of the film 3:10 to Yuma which stars Russell Crowe and Christian Bale so we watched it together. And it was really, really good. Totally gripping, and with some great acting. Crowe's character is entrancing, and I slightly changed my judgment of him because of that film. Maybe he can act ( Read more... )

Folk/country/indie, eh?!

The music artist that screamed out of my head when you said that is a guy by the name of Frank Turner, I think he is possibly the best lyricist since Morrissey, all his stuff is utterly fantastic. Some of his songs have a bouncy punk edge too.

I'd also recommmend Chuck Ragan, anything by Eels and something I put on last night that I had forgotten just how good it actually is, Lowgold's first album 'Just Backward of Square' from 2000ish, tremendous.

Oh and you can't beat some of the classics... Johnny Cash!

Thanks for the recommendation! I do like Morrissey and Johnny Cash. Not so keen on Eels, but I'll look up Frank Turner and Chuck Ragan, they sound pretty good. Cheers!

Have you checked out Pandora? You can customize a radio station, and you get 40 hours, and if you go over that, it's $.99 (American) to finish out the month. I have a good swing/big band channel.

I use Last FM, you just type in a band or genre you like & it plays similar songs. & it doesn't cost anything.

Also, thanks for reminding me that I wanted to download the Baseballs album!

I enjoyed Sex & the City 2. I knew it was going to be crap so I just enjoyed it because of that. Aside from some minor annoyances it was mostly enjoyable. Plus there's a wet t-shirt bit that James will enjoy!

I use last fm to log what I listen to, but whenever I try to listen to other stuff it plays crap. If I recall, you can't choose what comes next. However, once my 20 hours are up I may have to resort to it!

Get The Baseballs, and I defy you not to start jiving in your living room.

James thinks the women are all ugly as sin and so I don't think he'd be keen. I've asked him, and he says that Kirsten Davies is alright, but even she's a bit old now. Well.

Ah but the wet t-shirt is from the hot nanny that Charlotte gets. She also comes running across a lawn with no bra on.

I think last fm is a bit hit or miss but you just need to know what to search for. I recall 60's love songs is probably my best search.

O rly? James probably would like that. Still not sure I want to waste the money and two hours of my life to see it!
