Daniel had given her directions to Jack and Dr. House's hut. She'd talked to Dr. Cuddy about what to expect. So, when she felt ready, she wrapped herself up in a coat and started walking. She reminded herself that whatever Dr. House said or did, he wouldn't mean. And even if he did mean it, she would wait until after he was better to pass

Jack opened the door, blocking the view inside with his body. "What do you want, Trance?" he asked, too fucking tired for niceties. Part of him hoped she was here to relieve him, but there was always the chance she was just checking in. Either way, he wasn't letting just anyone in.

House had actually been sleeping for a few minutes, which was probably part of the reason Jack was so annoyed by the interruption.

See, something great had happened. House had stopped puking long enough to drink enough to get drunk.

He groaned and turned over onto his back, kicking off most of the sheets as he was sweating a little again.

"I am here to let you go eat and take a shower," Trance said, pointedly wrinkling her nose. "And then there was something said about a few hours of sleep? Daniel caught me this morning. Asked me to come over here for as long as you needed." She shrugged. "And I'm more than willing. I know what to expect from Mr. Grump in there."

Somehow, he really hadn't thought that Lisa and Daniel would come through...and yet here she was. Jack stared at her blankly for just a second before moving aside to let her in.

"Are you strong enough to hold him up?" That was the only question he had. All the protests, all the fight...those were gone. He really just wanted to make sure whoever was here could do the job.
