This is brilliant! I never would have thought of pairing Methos with Loki, but it works, and I think I have an new OTP. Thank you so much for posting this.

I usually put them as a student-teacher/father-son relationship, but if we're going to go who-gives-a-fuck!Primordial Methos and gender-fluid Loki... why not? Why not have them together on a goat farm in Italy?

In my head Loki was either accused of non-Sanctioned witchcraft or non-Sanctioned pantheon worship (Norse/Germanic?) by a mob, which may or may not have been egged on by disguised!Odin, and unaware of his spouses' own abilities took the blame and punishment -burned alive- so Loki wouldn't have too with the intent of reviving and then picking up his wife to move on. For his part Loki was in shock/being held back by the mob as Methos burned, and afterward ran home and apologized for his little stint of teenage womanly rebellion.

Methos ended up locating the kids and raising them up, possibly getting them positions as Watchers...

Of Fear Primordial of all things. 1.5 drabble

Loki had fallen.

All around Odin, blood and warriors fell.

Asgard was fallen to Loki's fell father. No silver tongue to distract and promise and sacrifice.

So to Odin it fell.

Broken dry lips licked in desperation, breath wheezed out from his slowly constricting throat. "He may live."

It stopped, it all stopped, the stillness was so great Odin thought blood drops hung motionless in the air, that entrails from split guts had yet to taste the dirt. "Speak, child-theif."

He could breathe, but obedient, desperate, first he spoke. "Loki, whom you seek may still live." Breathe now. "His blood and power. He knew the ways between words, and your blood is strong, and Jotun blood is resistant to the cold of space. He might have survived."

"And I should spare you for this happenstance?"

"If we are slain, we cannot search for you."

It was a sentiment worth considering.
