Though it would be inconsistent with the manga, I could see Gojyo giving up eventually, though perhaps he could work on kicking those thoughts out of his head before worrying about kicking the addiction :)

You're right, not what I expected, BUT I love it anyways ;) I am in an angsty dark mood right now so really, it fit perfectly for me.

Two lines I really loved:

The cigarette dies, and I crush it out with a bit more spite than is probably necessary. Bastard. Even he goes out before I do. That’s why I hate them - they always remind me how I can’t follow.

Damn! Love those lines.

and

You guys, you had stuff happen to you. For me, I am what happened.

Oh, how true. Hadn't thought of it like that before.

Great fic =)

These are the exact two lines that I was going to compliment.

The story was heartfelt and raw. I LOVED it!!! <3333

There's a lot of unspoken blame in Gojyo's life, which was levelled directly at him. I get the feeling that he was told it so often he ended up believing it himself. *hugs Gojyo* I think you two picked out my two favourite lines from this story - they were deliberately weighty, and I'm glad it came across. Thanks for the comment!

Ouch. There's some really, really dark stuff inside your Gojou, which makes me really happy that he's sort of kind of starting to deal with at the end. I think it's a really interesting, and believable, take on his character. Thanks for putting it out there.

Glad you liked it! I like touching on the dark stuff inside of the Saiyuki boys. Really, it's quite a dark manga in places, and deals with a lot of dark issues. Who wouldn't come out of their lives at least slightly fucked up?

Wow, nice job. You had a lot of new concepts in here (or at least new to me, ha), and all of them seemed determinedly Gojyo-ish.
