[Fanfic] - Untitled future!AU featuring Hakkai and Gojyo

So I’ve been working on a new fic for a little while now and finally got together a draft that I’m happy enough with to post. It’s been a desire of mine for a while to o a sci-fi AU story, and I got inspiration from a few sources to help me along; Tron, Transmetropolitan, a matriyoshka AMV, university studies and my fiance’s interest in computing

Thanks for a gripping read. Really well built from foundations all the way up to such details as instead of a lightbarrier and glass windows instead of translucent silicone displays. Altopgether an excellent futuristic world. Hakkai is both ic and richly written.

Your AU of the Minus Wave is convincing - and the details of the experiments are horrifying, in the right way.

I like meeting a smart Gojyo. Which I agree the canon one is.

Good last sentence - and I certainly hope it isn't the last, and I'll be reading more soon.

Phew! Glad you found it convincing - especially smart Gojyo. Gotta use whatever talents you have, and in this world he has a couple extra. I've always thought he was more than just a pretty face ;3 I'm also glad my imaginary rendering of a 'futuristic' tech-soaked landscape wasn't too jarring; I did worry it might be a bit transparent to crowbar in translucent silicone displays and suchlike.

I have a few details planned out, and a couple more chapters due for a rewrite, so watch this space! ;)

Hi, just finished. Well done! That was fascinating and I really liked smart!Gojyo. People tend to underestimate him and only play to his lothario side but given the opportunity I think there's a lot more there. I can see him working on barely legal biotech and the creativity with which he obviously creates it.I don't really like it when people write him as being dumb as a box of rocks. To me his intelligence tends to be instictive and emotional with is a good foil for Hakkai's formal education and well developed logical skilll (when he's sane).

Exactly! I love Gojyo when he's showing his learned-on-the-go smarts, as well as his emotional intelligence. I'm also pleased that they're not too 2D - writing the boys how they are is hard when we see so many facets of them over different fics and different authors. I'm glad they come across well for you :)

I love me some sci-fi stories. I thoroughly enjoyed this chapter, the descriptions of what Hakkai was feeling were great, and so were the ideas behind the different dnas.
