Wow, a comment even before I shared it to OhSam! Haha. I really liked this prompt, especially since the shot in the mirror of levi!Dean leaning over Sam's shoulder to whisper into his ear is one of my favorite visuals in the series, so had some fun playing with it.
Thanks for the lovely comment and I'm glad you liked it!
Love this hun!! I adored the extra angst and hurt/comfort in this! I hated how in the show they just parted ways and we didn't get to see Sam really dealing with anything or the start of him dealing at least. Great job with this!
Thanks, bb! I thought the ending of 7.06 worked in context, but playing with this was fun. We have so little idea what's going on in Sam's head, so needs more angst, haha. Oh broken boys, you make my heart hurt.
Urgh. This story underlines just how terrible Dean's betrayal was. Dean is always demanding trust and honesty, but he won't give it, as if Sam wouldn't deserve it. Not to mention the fact that he killed Sam's friend. This was a painful read. And the leviathan was so damn creepy. There's something about being eaten that doesn't sit well with me at all (Well, duh.) And then there's Lucifer. The twisted tenderness of the hallucination/menory in contrast with the blatant torture just makes it worse.
Yeah, that's continued to bother me. I keep thinking that Sam let him off too easy after "The Mentalists," but at the same time, he's barely hanging on and can't keep dealing with this stuff alone. So I dunno. The trust thing just felt underplayed in canon so wanted to deal with it here.
If this was painful and creepy, then it did its job. So... thanks for that, ha!
I actually got the feeling that Sam "agreed" with Dean in The Mentalists not so much because he's barely hanging on himself (though he is) but because he knows Dean is barely hanging on and can't take the separation else he'll snap, but the only way for them to get back together is for Sam to give in because Dean never would. Which is kind of even worse.

I would nearly say "poor Sam" but I just like Lucifer too much. Even if he's torturing Sammy (well or deeply disdurbing him at least).
