i received in the mail today a rather thick packet from villanova. expecting it to be general information (i'm still waiting for my online access stuff and to register for my classes), i opened it to find a letter from the professor of my dramaturgy class with three photocopied plays and a 'to buy' list. also included was the note that he strongly ( Read more... )

I love to read. One of my favorite pasttimes. However, I never could get into reading books I was forced to read. I'm sure I've missed out on some amazing things this way, but in reality, I can only think of maybe 5 books in the entirety of my schooling that I did not view as a chore. In fact, one of them I actually got in trouble for. In the 6th grade, we were supposed to do a journal project on the book "Shiloh." I didn't really read it, and was given an extension on the project, when my reading teacher decided to let us choose the next book. The class chose "Jurassic Park," the movie of which had just moved over to the dollar theaters, and Mrs. Goff was understandably upset when she discovered me on page 200-something of JP long before we were supposed to be there, and still no sign of my Shiloh project.

I don't think I ever turned it in, actually...

And I wonder why I didn't do so hot in school!
