I've been wondering, what did most people do for a living back home? I've heard a lot of strange tales about jobs I didn't even know existed.

Plenty of us have boring jobs, like being a student. [ Or demigod. Therapist for an entire city, maybe. Puppet master. Crusher of hopes. Peeping tom.

There's nothing wrong with having a boring job. A lot of people would prefer that. I mean, think about the long lunches you could have~

People sometimes die before their time's up, or they stay for too long. If that happens in my district, I need to make sure they cross.

It means they might have fallen victim to a spell, or some supernatural being is tampering with their lives. Or, if they're really unlucky, they have some level of power themselves.
