As I go into full scale teaching this year I'm minded to set this LJ's default settings to friends only.

If this is going to cause anyone problems squeek now!

I think that's sensible, in fact. I was friends'-locked only for years and years (until the novel appeared). And then, ex-students started popping up wanting references... Mostly fine, but all the same, it shows that they will look.
