Major Rant!

Okay okay! As an historian-type person I can understand why most of the things that bother me in period films don’t bother other people, and I can see why people like Luton consider me to be utterly finickity when it comes to some of the things that appear to bug me the most.

But in general my complaints can be split into two categories:

rant, history, movies

Ha ha ha, wonderful!! ^__^ And very educational! Interesting!! Though, upon seeing this film, you just feel there's things wrong all along, I am not as educated on the actual historic details beyond the obvious. Please go on another day when you have more strength to type, I'd like to hear more.

Well, the most obvious thing of all is Kevin Costner being in the film at all ^_^;;; (I really don't like him very much -_-)

they seemed to have forgotten entirely about their British audience.

More likely they don't care very much -_- *thinking of how Swedes and Sweden is depicted in American films with a resigned sigh*

though must admit to like watching Christian Slater tortured ^^

I know what you mean! It seems the rest of us out here in the Big Wide World are doomed to languish in the realms if The Unknown as far as America is concerned.

And as to Christian Slater + torture! Heh - it's the only thing in the whole film worth watching!

We are so bad! ^__^

It seems so -_- 'When you don't want to do tidious research -- just use another country than the US, it's so "exotic" and "far away" that no one is ever going to check the facts up' -__- (sometimes I really do believe that's how they are thinking O_o)

*LOL* I actually did watch the film more than once, just for that *blushing* ^^

We are so bad! ^__^

It's good to be bad ^__^

so are the lingering looks from Will Scarlet to Robin... until you find out they're randomly brothers.

Aaaaiiiieeee!!! Horrific things. Did you see Deathwatch? It wasn't great, but they used the wrong rifles and it vexed me tremendously; if someone's producing a period film, it doesn't take much to do a bit of research, does it? U-571 was just fiction and so annoying that I physically couldn't watch more than a few minutes of it, especially knowing that the British literally just *found* an Enigma machine aboard an abandoned U-boat, capturing it without a shot being fired. The producer of U-571 explained that 'if we don't tell the story somehow, it will just be forgotten and people wont know what happened'. Vomitorious. Highly vomitorial.
