Well work went as ex[ected yesterday. As soon as I walked through the door my manager started having a go about those bets from Saturday night - although I did stick up for myself where those were concerned and pointed out that I had done everything I could to get the problem sorted, although I don't think she believed me ( Read more... )

To be honest? Your manager sounds like a bit of a cow. I work for Ladbrokes as a DM too (have been with the company for 6 years now) and saying that anyone is utterly incompetant is a bit of a joke.

Everyone's entitled to make a few mistakes sometimes.

Oh, and it's interesting reading someone's journal who knows phrases like "we had so many bets in the backlog, ARGH!" and are also saying things like "I really need to start looking for another job."

Hi and thanks for the comment :o)

Yeah I suppose she is a bit of a cow sometimes but she has buggered off on holiday for the next two weeks so she obviously doesn't think I am totally useless - heheh :op

Oh and backlogs! Arrgh! Hate them hate them hate them!

Heh, isn't it good when they sod off on holiday and leave you to it? I get more things done when my manager isn't in *G* love it, love it!

And eww, backlogs - especially during 12 hour shifts. And hot shops. All the money Ladbrokes have and they won't put us air conditioning in, the tossers. 37c it got up to yesterday and our security woman said "no, there's no maximum temperature that a place of work can be! Sorry!"

*kicks her* LOL

I sympathise with your heating problems - I'm lucky to be working in an air conditioned shop most of the time, but I had to work in the shop up the road on Tuesday and that place is an oven!! It gets so hot in there they have a special dispensation that means they don't have to wear their uniforms in the hot weather. Lucky bastards! Heheh!
